Robert (Bob) graduated from Melbourne High School in 1980. With dreams of being independent and to "do something useful” as his late grandfather Earl Shelton would tell him growing up. Bob started Bob’s Complete Landscaping with just a lawn mower in the back of his truck and was able to turn his successful business into one of the leading commercial landscaping companies in Brevard County. Bob had at one time over fifty employees and would go out of his way to help them out if they were struggling. He would always take the time to listen to them and try the best way he knew of to be a guide and mentor as well as a boss. Bob had a huge caring heart and a sense of humor that was his Superpower! Everyone loved Bob for his smile, humor, and laughter.
Bob was a wonderful father who loved to laugh, have fun, fish, watch football and play sports with his two boys Shaun and Seth. Bob coached basketball and baseball for several years for both boys and other children in the Palm Bay and West Melbourne area. They all loved him, and he helped them feel good and be themselves. He and his wife Leslie were married 32 years and loved each other through all of life’s difficulties. They had a bond like no other because of the experiences they went through together in life and it made their marriage one of strength, dedication, commitment, and true unconditional love!
Bob loved to surf, fish, golf, ski, hike, and he was excellent on the grill. He enjoyed a nice, rare steak and loved going out to eat. One of his favorite foods was sushi and he, his wife Leslie and family would go every Friday out for sushi.
