Breast cancer isn't one disease - it's probably four or five

different types, and without knowing what type a person has,

you can't optimize treatment for them. An important finding is

that by determining the genome sequences of an entire family,

one can identify many DNA sequencing errors and thus greatly

increase the accuracy of the data. This will ultimately help us

understand the role of genetic variations in the diagnosis,

treatment, and prevention of disease.

We know that childhood and adolescence are the most crucial

times for environmental stimuli to affect breast cancer risk, but

changes made during adulthood and even after diagnosis still

have the potential to create positive changes in the body. We're

not going to find a magic cure for cancer. We've got to prevent it.

"OCTOBER" THE MONTH OF PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES

Birthday greetings to Delores Booth Armstrong! Milestone

accomplishments during this pandemic season of our lives have

become phenomenal blessings. Much like Lance Stroll, a  Canadian-

Belgian Formula One racing driver, "The lows have been frustrating,

and very challenging times, but the highs have been phenomenal." For

hundreds of millions of Americans who believe in God, prayer is our

bridge between Earth and Heaven, our way of opening our hearts to

the Lord. Through this intimate relationship we find peace and

guidance. (Nick Rahall) What a combination for quotes, Stroll's a race

care driver and Rahall was a politician. I'm persuaded that a spiritual

conviction and dependence materializes as their common

denominator.

Today, numerous prayers have been answered on your behalf and

your spiritual relationship is in tact. Surely peace and guidance will be

among the additional gifts you'll received. May continued favor and

compassion also transpire. As you celebrate with family, I wish you a

Jeffery Smith type of day. May every "good gift" (one that alleviates

guilt and one that will keep on reminding the person about your love

for them) that you've conveyed to family and friends, come "Back To

You", as you celebrate "A Good Day In The Spirit"....enjoy your

day and stay safe my friend....

Greetings Fellow Classmates!

I have really been moved by the inspirational and touching messages that have been posted to honor brave survivors of breast cancer and memoralize those who left us too soon as a result of breast cancer.  Thank you and continue to uplift us!

One post, especially, has pointed out to me what I sometimes forget - there is some good in everyone!  I confess that Kayleigh McEnany has not been a favorite person of mine.  Quite the opposite!  I was surprised to see a quote from her in one of the posts and immediately looked it up. Her story is one of a fighter, a scraper.  I still abhor her politics, but I have to admire her courage!

While I have members of my family, including my mother, who have been stricken by cancer, no one (to my knowledge) has been stricken by breast cancer.  I count that as a blessing!

Thank you Ken, James, Alberdeen, and all others who have blessed us this month with your posts.

Stay safe, get tested, and get your mammograms!

Love you all,

Margie

Awareness is the first step in healing. Having the BRCA

mutation significantly increases the risk of breast cancer, but it

is not always the only factor. Lifestyle choices may increase or

decrease the risk of breast cancer, but that knowledge is an

opportunity to empower ourselves, not to blame.

Friday morning I made a run to the "Dirty South" to celebrate the 40th

birthday of my daughter. There were technical difficulties with the

website, which prevented the normal greeting. All family and friends

returned safely to their destinations without any problems or

distractions. Many thanks to everyone who extended prayers and

reminded me to be sure to :

Thank you Margie for your kind words of encouragement to De',

James, myself and others. It's always a joy to see a name other than

mine posted on the website. It's a blessings for you, not to have a

known family member who has or have had breast cancer. It's an

unforgetable situation. My grandmother had metastatic cancer and

choose not to have any treatments or a mastectomy. Fortunately, a

different choice is available these days.

Like you, I didn't care much for Kayleigh's politics and similar to

breast cancer, Covid-19 doesn't make choices either. I was devastated

to read about the transition of General Colin Powell this morning. I

have much respect for him and his accomplishments. Continue to

grace us with your kind words and continue to encourage all who read

from them...I thought about you and Larry as I drove through

Greenville....Jackie Casey, maybe I'll have time to stop in Charlotte on

my next excursion and visit with you and Alvin...stay safe my friends...

I have a lot of breast cancer history on my mother's side of the

family. That's why I talk about the breast cancer: because I want

women - and everyone - to stay on top of things and get

checked. I know how scary it can be. When I dealt with it, I was

like, 'Oh my God.' And I have so many other friends who have

gone through it or have suffered a loss.

Three women in my family, close relatives, have had breast cancer, and

two have died from it, and still I never thought it could happen to me. I

didn't even regularly check my breasts. ~Jameela Jamil~

Jamil was born on 25 February 1986 in Hampstead, London, to a

Pakistani father Ali Jamil, and a Pakistani-British mother Shireen

Jamil. In various 2015 interviews, Jamil mentioned that she left the

BBC Radio 1 Official Chart Show because of a breast cancer scare in

2014, and that she had had lumpectomies on both breasts, in which

she said she lost a "large chunk" of breast tissue. In a 2015 interview

with the Daily Mirror, she instead describes the 2014 scare as a single

"lump", and waiting "three or four days before the results revealed that

the lump wasn't cancerous", and that this experience inspired her:

"But once I was given the all-clear I thought, 'That's it. I'm out of here.

I'm off to see the world and do all the crazy things I've never done."

Salutations to you Beverly Miller! With this commemorative day of

celebration, I trust that you and your family are overcomers of this

present-day pandemic. May elegance, compassion and eminence be

among the benevolent gifts of favor bestowed upon you today. By now,

your Real Estate internship with the San Diego District Attorney Office

has been completed, and you're familiar with a gentleman named

Anthony Hitt. Anthony stated; Keep every promise you make and only

make promises you can keep. To be successful in real estate, you must

always and consistently put your clients' best interests first. When you

do, your personal needs will be realized beyond your greatest

expectations. Anthony has served as Chief Executive Officer of Engel &

Völkers Americas, when the Hamburg-based real estate leader tapped

him to establish its presence within California.

You've wholly established your presence within California and

you've kept every promise you made and only made promises, only you

can keep. The daily obligations of a college professor and a Real Estate

Broker are demanding for some, even at our age. Judiciously, Anthony

relates you must always and consistently put your clients (and I'm

adding, your students) best interests first. Deftly, you have studiously

accomplished your occupational endeavors by doing so. Subsequently,

your personal needs have been realized beyond your greatest

expectations. As you and your family celebrate today, I wish you a

Paul Hardcastle type of day. Vocationally, mortage rates are down

and tuition free community college for two years won't be included in

the "Build Back Better" legislation. Such an alliance is simply another

actualization related to the Rhythm Of Life we've come to

actualized....enjoy your day and stay safe my friend....

Everyone who survives cancer knows the victory against it may only be

temporary. You know eventually that you might have to fight all over again.

Almost 15 years after my mum's first bout of cancer, a second bout occurred.

This time she needed an operation. But having gone through two bouts of

breast cancer and all the operations and treatments it's fair to say mum's a

special human being - especially as she had to deal with the tragedy and

heartache that went with Dad's death. Mum never made an excuse, even when

she had cancer and had a lot on her plate. You have to have huge admiration

for the way she brought us up.

May expressions of gratitude, accolades of joy and flower bouquets

be showered upon you today Wanda Taylor! Let it be known to all that

you're a conquering heroine by virtue of the benevolence and spiritual

openhandedness received over your lifetime. Military service was a

transformative experience for us and the motto "Aim High" became

the die-cast which molded us to become conquerors. This mindset was

also proclaimed by a gentleman who's a biologist, naturalist, and

writer. He's famously known as the world's leading expert on ants.

Edward O.Wilson stated "You are capable of more than you know.

Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best,

however hard the path. Aim high. Behave honorably. Prepare to

be alone at times, and to endure failure. Persist! The world needs all

you can give." His proclaimation sums up an associated description of

our determination to overcome these temporal days of a pandemic.

When we consider the hidden life of ants, we presume they're

always aiming higher than ground level, always looking for that next

mountain to climb. Comparably, your milestone achievement today

solidifies your endurance, your persistance and your personal

preparations to endure failure along the hard path. As you celebrate

today with family, may the fog of uneasiness be lifted from your

surroundings. May your Visual Flight Rules allow you to see where

you've been and where you're headed. I wish you a Demetrius

High and take flight, "Into The Light", The world needs all you can

her son’s father. Unfortunately, their relationship took a turn for the worse

when he became violent. During next week's episode of her Facebook Watch

series, Peace of Mind with Taraji, Henson spoke with Angela Simmons about

the abuse. “Sometimes as women what we do is we fall in love and we go, ‘You

know what? I’ll fix it later. For me, it was when blood was drawn,” she said.

“Because it started with the bruises and grabbing, things like that. And then

once the fist came — I’m missing a piece of my lip to this day — that’s when I

knew I had to go.” Henson says childhood trauma and not wanting her son to

experience the same is what got her out.

If you observe children with sufficient objectivity as they grow

"OCTOBER" THE MONTH OF PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES

Today, I extend a deep rooted homage to the last of three educators,

born during the month of October. Margie McRae Reed.... Alice,

Wendy and Margie, your contributions toward building the confidence

of and shaping the minds of numerous individuals with your

instructional forebearance is unparalleled. We know that society is

better - more prosperous, more stable, more peaceful, more cohesive -

when women's rights are respected and when women are valued,

empowered, and lead the way in our communities.(Justin Trudeau)

Margie, as you celebrate today with your family, may the spiritual

sense and harmony of your earthly temporal body as mentioned by

Rudolf Steiner, be showered with overflowing  soft-heartedness and

finesse. Your soul-spirit was embeded within each edition of "Society's

Swirl" published in "The Washingtonian" newspaper. As we

hilariously laughed at your antics and truisms, you shaped our minds,

thereby connecting with our soul-spirit and earthly temporal bodies.

Justin Trudeau has a subtle discription resembling a portion of your

character. A good teacher isn't someone who gives the answers out to

their kids but is understanding of needs and challenges and gives tools

to help other people succeed. Openness, respect, integrity - these are

principles that need to underpin pretty much every other decision that

you make. I am a teacher. It's how I define myself. Justin Trudeau may

be Prime Minister of Canada, but mathematically speaking, you're our

prime number. Uniquely you!

Thank you once again for your support and encouragement during

my individual website adaptation of "Society's Swirl". I appreciate your

openess, respect and integrity during our messaging feedback

conversations. As you, Larry and the remaining family celebrate this

major achievement, I wish you an Eric Essix type of day. Now retired

from professional teaching, you've gone through your own personnal

Evolution. Now its time to relax as you travel your Path To

On a personal note: I have contracted an outstanding case of breast

cancer, from which I intend to recover. I don't need get-well cards, but

I would like the beloved women readers to do something for me: Go.

Get. The. Damn. Mammogram. Done. When I was first

diagnosed, I went out, as a book person, and got some books on cancer

and looked up my version of the disease. It said that I had about a 5

percent chance of survival. I said, 'Gosh, well, it's been a good run.'

What I didn't realize is that in the two years since those books were

published, things had shifted dramatically.
