"Happy Birthday" Talut El-Amin

It is better to have a lion at the head of an army of sheep, than a sheep at the head of an army of lions. ~Daniel Defoe~

Your first name of Talut has given you a pleasant, easy-going, friendly nature. As a king appointed by God to rule over the Children of Israel, the Qur'an describes you as leading a few of his men (those who kept faith) into battle against the warriors of Goliath. As you celebrate this milestone, continue to keep the faith. I look forward to seeing you in the near future. Semper FI Marine !

"Happy Birthday"   Almedia & Mary

Now and then, it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy. ~Guillaume Apollinaire~

I hope that you all had a wonderful day of celebration. Wishing each of you a continuous life of blessings. I look forward to seeing each of you in the near future.

I want to thank my class mates for your calls, e-mails, voice, facebook, and text messages. Your words of comfort was so uplifting to me when I needed them the most. I just returned home and I am reading your beautiful cards that was waiting for me, the words seem to have been written just for me. The passing of my mother has left me with a broken heart, I have been told by those that have gone through this that time will make it better. I pray that it will because because right now I feel like I will never be the same. But I do find comfort in knowing that you took the time to reach out to me and for that I thank each of you.

I pray God's blessing for you

Marsha

Happy Birthday

to

Gerald Best

AND

to all who had Birthdays that I missed in April up to this point.

Remember, nothing gets old but clothes and wine -clothing we either throw out or replace and wine just tastes so doggone good mellowed with age!

We are just getting more seasoned (the longer you marinate, the better the taste).

May God grant you all many, many, more anniversaries of the day of your birth.

Lots of Love

Gwen

In honor of Mother's Day,I would like to honor my mom,Jessie Marie Johnson. My mom passed when I was 25 years old,I felt like I was still trying to find my way in this world. My sister,Gwen(Annie) and I were as some would say "mothers girls".We depended on my mom for advice all the time.I have to say looking back,I should have followed that advice. My mom worked at The Four Way  when we lived in the Lemoyne Gardens.Whenever we went to the Ritz Theatre my mom would come over and bring us chips ,cokes and sometimes those big juicy hamburgers.Of course before we went to the movies ,we all had to go to church.Moms are special,in honor of all moms, each of us no matter where life took us ,should honor the lady that got us here.Take care and stay safe.

The greatest gift that God gave to man was a Woman! Deriving from that precious cargo was the canal journey that we all encountered which is labeled birth. Following this process came the showering of love and care which could only be administrated by the gentle mind and hands of that entity in the family structure known as MOTHER!!! Being Blessed, as Iam to have my mother still with me, time would not permit me to properly display the important roll and experiences that I have witnessed as a result of that one gift that GOD BLESSED me with. With this in mind, I would like to, by way of the web site, publicly Thank GOD for my MOTHER and the gift he gave when he gave man WOMAN!!!  "To all my female classmates, wheather biologically connected to a child or just being the Gift that God gave for that purpose I'd like to say HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY.

Kathaleen Daugherty (Marion)

You all are up  early reporting on the good time we had at the set  with our classmates and other alumnae.

I really had a nice time.  I stayed in bed a little longer than you all.  Took me a little longer to recoup.  We should

do this more often.  I hope we can and more of my classmates show up.  It really would be nice.  You are my

class family and I love family.  Love you all..

I also had a great time at the class mixture and my old legs are still sore from trying to line dance. I really wished more of our classmates had come to fellowship with us but maybe next time, they will come. I am looking forward to the next one and the next one. I told some BTW alumni about our mixture and they want to come the next time. I told them good food, good drinks, good music with a DJ, and good fellowship among grown folks. Hope to see more classmates on our next mixture.

I am days late wishing all my classmates a Happy Fathers Day,but I do hope each of you had a great time .Fathers are a very vital part of a childs life, whether it be as a father or grandfather. We are finding that some of the grandfathers are actually raising the grandchildren ,having  to be there for theses young people when the parents are not there for whatever reason.I do hope  that as we all reach the age of 62 that we all get to enjoy our life to the fullest.I hope we are all looking forward to our next reunion.Take care and stay safe.

Cherlyn Harris (Conner)

I am just hearing of Kathaleen's passing as well...I am so sad to hear of her passing because she is a truly beautiful spirit as Norma stated in her message.  Looking back through the forum, she last posted on 5/27...a little more than a month ago.   Time passes fast!  Time is both a friend and a foe.  Sometimes time gives us the space we need to heal and sometimes time comes to take another warrior home.

May GOD continue to bless and keep us all...the 1970 Class of BTW!

Mickey

Thank you Marilyn for posting the announcement. Norma, at this particular time,we're all upset and having a setback concerning Kat. She was just among you all a few days ago. Between you and I, all that really matters is that everyone knows about the service times. Thank you and Carolyn Parker for bringing her passing to our attention. Take care , my friend.........
