Hii Eugene welcome to the website

I am surprise you name only two people and you figured out yourself that would make 3

is that a picture of your homeroom?  I see you along with Brenda Rogers, Lillie Mae Anderson,

Teresa Gardner, Albert Blair, Shelia Gray,Marzee Gates and Carolyn Keys.   I know the other two

girls on the row with you but their names. NOT 100% SURE....  I .think I also

see Margie McRae and  Lillie Mae Anderson and I may have already name them in a what I thought was a

another homeroom picture.   The girl  next  to you I know the face and I want to say her name is Hazel; girl on

the other end from you may be  Denise Ware.

Just messing with you about the number of classmates you identified.

Kenneth, I don't know where you sat during the pep rallies!! But every section where I sat we never used the word "world".  My section said, "where in the HELL is section 5".  Oh yeah, Kenneth, we were in the same section-The band!!!!!!!!

Happy birthday to everyone who has had a birthday and I didn't send a greeting.

In the Alpha Elites, Debra Harris Dugard, back row, 6th person from left and Jackie Franklin 3rd from left front row and Julia next to her. Debbie's mom taught some of us English.       That's a record for me two responses in one day for me!

WARRIORS!  WARRIORS! WARRIORS! WARRIORS!

Do you all recall that war cry??? Regardless of your seating location in the gym, you had to respond. It was either a cheer, grunt, a giggle, roar or whatever was requested. As website administrators, we are only asking that you post a response on the site, preferably to let others know that you're among the remaining "Proud Warrior Family". Everyone does not do Facebook, by choice. Neither is everyone local or has everyone's phone number or email address. For all you folks who do subscribe to Facebook, the reported breach of personal data is real. It may have been fifty (50) million individuals affected. Were you and your friends included??? DID YOU SUCCUMB TO the FAKE NEWS BATTLE????  Well it’s no “FAKE NEWS” that Bonnie actually posted on the website, two times within the same day!!!!…no need for an investigation or affidavit! Furthermore, she exemplifies the true character of “OUR WARRIOR FAMILY”. The best of friends check each other concerning what we say. I intentionally wrote “World”, hoping that one of my classmates would correct me. Thanks Bonnie!!!! Although you accelerated from Section 2 to 5, let’s give 3 and 4 a chance…..However, because you were elected to speak for us, I “HOLISTICALLY” support your decision….Is that you next to Willie Browncool???

March Madness Abounds!

Hopefully your “Sweet Sixteen” brackets are not completely broken. Congrats to Penny Hardaway as the newly designated Men’s Basketball Head Coach for the University of Memphis Tigers. I recall traveling to Atlanta back during the 90s, when he played for the Orlando Magic. He and Shaq put on a show, talk about excitement! That was a “Fantastic NBA” double feature weekend. You see, Freaknik was scheduled that same weekend. Freaknik was an annual spring break meeting in Atlanta, primarily of students from historically black colleges and universities. If you’ve ever attended, you’d understand all the excitement! ! ! Anyway, here’s the last team standing from my bracket. These are “Our Champions”……

Fellow Warriors, so glad to see 2018 communication on the website. Kenneth, you have really out done yourself with the postings. It is hard to remember classmates names but faces you know. As for the Alpha Elites, I think I can list several  names:

Margie McRae, Bonnie Pippin, Claudia Grant, Jackie Sawyer, Debra Harris, Wendy Wooten, Linda Pettigrew, Fredrica Jones, Carolyn Harris(now name), Brenda Read, Jacquelyn Franklin, Julia Harris, Brenda Smith, Bernice Moss(?)..... I am missing maybe 4 names but I recognize the faces.

Am I correct anyone?

Kenneth, Lowell was in the Marines but I don't remember him being at Camp Lejuene(sp).  But thanks for the info and for those who don't know, my son Lowell and his unit(Air National Guard) have been deployed to Qatar.  I remember my brother, Reggie, going to Vietnam. I guess as the BIBLE says there will always be rumors of wars.

Yes,I had forgotten that Annie,Carolyn Cain, and it looks like Rosie Johnson and I were in

the same homeroom.Helen,I do not know how we ended up in there,we also

had several classes together, where when she skipped class, the teacher would

ask me where she was.Course,I had to lie and say she was sick, when she

was actually on her way home. Those were fun days.

" The woman power of this nation can be the power which makes us whole and heals the rotten community, now so shattered by war and poverty and racism. I have great faith in the power of women who will dedicate themselves whole-heartedly to the task of remaking our society."

~ Coretta Scott King ~

Thank you so much Audrey and Helen, for continuing the conversation. There are others among these classrooms that most of us recognize, but yet!!! Still waiting for a reply.... Let us join together and wish our beloved friend, Joycelyn Lacy Sommerville a joyous "Happy Birthday". I have great faith in the power of women who will dedicate themselves whole-heartedly to the task of remaking our society.

Well, Well, Well, 10-19 Mrs. Exum's Class...........I see me, Betty Brigham,Lydia Gray,

Evelyn Bramlett,  Glenda Kimble, Rosie Johnson, Patricia Byers,

Marilyn Webb, and Beverly Miller.  I think that is Cynthia Hall

and Clara Macklin on the row with me also. I cannot see them clearly but I am relying on my

memory as to who was in my homeroom and that looks like them.

Audrey could you make out all the persons in your class but just could not put the name with them.

"Happy Birthday to Joann Griffieth & Gary Hightower"

" When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand." ~ Henri Nouwen ~  Those of us who truely know Joann and Gary, have known them to share in our pain, our wounds and have always reached out to us with a warm and tender hand. "That's what friends are for" is more than the lyric to a song when considering their friendship throughout the years. Enjoy your day!!!
