Hey, Class of 88! I can't believe that it has been 20 years since we graduated high school! I was a 3rd grade teacher for 13 years with DeSoto County Schools. Last year, I took a turn in my teaching career. My husband and I have fallen in love with the deaf culture for the past 5 years now. We have been going to Jamaica every year with our church. In Jamaica, we lead a team that works at a deaf school. We run a program like a "Vacation Bible School" for the week. Going to Jamaica has changed our lives forever! God has opened the doors for me to work with deaf children in DeSoto County. Last year, I accepted a position at Center Hill Elementary School in Olive Branch, MS. I was the Teacher of the Hearing Impaired for the 3rd-5th grades. Currently, I am teaching the hearing impaired at Lewisburg Middle/High School. It has been a very rewarding job! It is amazing to see God's hand working in my life over the past 5 years. He has been preparing me for this very special job. My husband and I are members of Colonial Hill Church in Southaven, MS. We are also involved with the Deaf Ministry there. We both interpret the worship services by using sign language for the Deaf members. We will be going to Jamaica in June 2009 with our church again.
