I was in Eugene Crain's homeroom.  Donna Crowley and I shared a locker.  I can't remember all the homeroom members and think I might have some confused with other classes.  Some of those I believe were in homeroom were: Dotty Agneta, Gloria Meyer, Barbara Hopper, Nancy Kennon, Charles Beck

Susan - Thanks for the reminder about 12-5.  I think we had Mr. Crain for homeroom from 9 through 12.  Mrs. Cross was homeroom in seventh and I think eighth.  She drove me to girl scouts in seventh grade with her daughter.  Have no idea how that came about other than possibly the scout leader was her friend.

does anyone remember how hard principal Syler hit with his paddle? The week of graduation Robert Grady, Jimmy Lynch and I decided to skip lunch at our lunch room and walk over to the Sears caferteria. All calm and cool (we thought) just sat down to enjoy our buffet when who walks by but none other Coach Floyd who says "I'll see you boys in the principal's office when you finish your lunch. Well, his presences took the flavor right out of my meatloaf and we hestantly walked back in fear to the principal's office where in the office both Floyd and Mr. Syler stood waiting for us. He gave us our two choices...3 days or 3 licks. I asked does our mothers have to know? And after weighing our choices we chose the licks. The teachers in the remaining afternoon classes could not understand why we did not want to sit down. My parents did not find out until I was 55. Man oh man what a secret that still stings to this day. Laurence Culbreath

I was in Mr. Crain's homeroom (12-5) with Diana Cutting.  Diana, you are correct  about the names you remember from our homeroom.  I remember Ronnie and Donnie Angel from our homeroom and was surprised they are not in our graduating class.  Where did they go?  Also Eddie Tauber was in our homeroom if I remember correctly.

This is a new topic:  I hope you have all looked at the In Memory page.  Some classmates have written really touching comments about those who have died.  It would be very nice if  you knew any of them  and would like to share memories with everyone.

Hi, all, I dug through my box of old momentoes hoping to find a Buzz Book.  I didn't find one but did find two scrapbooks from high school complete with programs from many of the plays, programs from some of the athletic events, newspaper articles about sports events and various class members, even some campaign "ads" from some class members, etc.  I have our graduation program -- we were only WSHS's 5th class (??) plus just a lot of miscellaneous things.  I'll have to try to organize it a bit and bring it along for sharing.  Susan, there's even a paper pencil  -- Vote Susan Wyatt for Secretary.  And you're still doing it 50 years later!!  Best wishes, Harriet

With the deadline drawing near I hope more of our classmates will be able to attend the reunion.  Can't for the life of me know why I haven't chatted with everyone on this forum...not like I have that much to do!  I have to hand it to everyone who can remember their homeroom numbers!  Maybe that is why I kept my hair blond for so long (Mother nature has frosted it now)...or was it Sandra Dee?  Thanks to Eddie, Susan, Margo and Gloria for all your efforts.  If I left anyone else out...thank you too. Looking forward to April. hugs, Peggy Howerton Mathis

Dear Memphis Classmates, I heard  Memphis had a bad wind storm Monday.  Hope you are all ok and didn't experience any damage to your homes. Ditto to Arkansas residents if you live where there were high winds. We had strong gust but nothing like you all.  Looking forward to next week! hugs, Peggy

What can I say.  Our reunion was just the funest time I have had in a long time!!!  Our class was truely special and we proved it once again.  We mingled, laughed, hugged, danced and were down right goofy sometimes as we rushed into each others arms and relived old times.  It was almost as if these last fifty years had never happened--if we all took off our glasses!!!

Which leads me to say,  "Thank You", to all ya'll who made this happen for the rest of us.  Please know that we truely appreciate your efforts!  Sincerely--CA Agnew

Response back to Lawrence Culbreth... wow! What a mamory you have. I suppose the stern "licks" we got made an impression. Now that you mention it, I recall that event as well.

You know, there was a sort of "special" by-product of that event. It was so unusual for us to deviate from the straingt-line, to challenge the system, to be "minor outlaws" for a change. I felt good to leave the campus but getting caught was cool too. We were OK. We were real. We had an existance beyond the straight and narrow. Cool. Glad you remembered.

Let me hear from you if you get a chance... and anyone else too.... Robert Grady Stovall... aka Bob...

Congratulations to Linda for her prestigious recognition....Wow !  And I'm writing up ball games in this small Central Texas town and loving it.....

It's still great reading these messages, certainly emotionally saddened when a classmate dies. That was a wonderful note written by Pat Musselman's husband....I wish him and his family well.

I am living in Marble Falls, Tx, about an hour NW of Austin, where I have two daughters, two sons-in-law, and four grandkids. I have been very lucky. Bill Tyson, in Memphis, remains my best friend, and we talk three or four times a week--yes, mainly about sports.  I get to Memphis about once a year--my sister is there and well,

Hope all of you are okay...

Sincerely, Art Dlugach, artt@nctv.com   yes, with two t's..that's what was left !  and I love emails since my grandson helped me learn the computer....or, learn more about it....But I don't know much about the I phone.

Thanks, John.  We're having some really fine days here in the foothills of the Ozarks, as well.  As we move into November, I wish all my classmates a splendid holiday season.  May you all have quality time with family.

Thanks John,

Steve and I are in Florida and really enjoying the good weather. We will be in Tennessee during the month of December for the Holidays but back to Florida for the rest of the winter. Love the Florida weather. Too cold in Tennessee.
