Sandy was absolutely one of my very best friends. I met Sandy when he sat opposite me in 9th grade study hall. He was playing football for the Spartans and Jimmy Godown and I were taking pictures of the team for the school annual. Sandy promptly broke my camera and the rest is as they say history.
He was in my wedding, I followed him to Southhaven when we bought our first home and he continued to photograph me and my family over a forty year friendship. It broke my heart when I carried him to his grave.
Some people you think will live forever, or at least ought to. Sandy could light up a room with his infectious smile and genuine friendliness. He is in a happier place now and I truly hope to see him again someday.
