Jim and I were in Boy Scouts together. I remember my first day of the 9th grade at White Station. After registering at the office I was taken to my new home room. When it was announced that I was assigned to that homeroom, Jim burst out with "Yeah!!!" He encouraged to expand my interest in photography and in developing my own pictures. As I recall, we reactivated the Photo Club and used a janitor's closet as a darkroom.
After my family moved to the Chicago area right after high school, I found out that he moved to live with is father who worked in Chicago. While there he was working with graphic arts photography. We went to a Graph Acts seminar together and went downtown for New Year's Eve once.
The last time I saw him was when I was in Memphis for the 35th reunion. I was sad to see that he had passed. I was hoping to see him.
