Demerath Julie Ellen

Julie Ellen Demerath, 56, of Libertyville, IL, passed away on June 14, 2011, following a brief battle with leukemia.

Julie was bom March 14, 1955, in Neenah, Wi, to the late Donald and Helen Demerath. She attended St. Mary's High School, then achieved her BA in Music Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and proudly attained her MA in

Liturgical Music and Liturgy from St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN. Julie had the opportunity to touch many lives with her faith and music. She was most recently a liturgical musician at St. Timothy's Catholic Parish of Chicago, IL, and St. James Catholic Parish of Highwood, IL. She was an accomplished musician on the clarinet, piano, organ and voice; as well as providing private music lessons to students throughout Wisconsin and Illinois for over 25 years.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Kuepper of Menasha, Wi; her children, Lucie Brei, Nikkolaus Brei, Kateri Brei, Debra Brei-Short, Geoffrey (Sarah) Brei and Josef Brei; six grandchildren, Ava, Georgia, Lincoln, Emily, Jessa and Serena.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 11 am. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha. The visitation will be on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

Julie openly shared her love of music and faith with everyone she met through life, from her longtime friends to the serendipitous encounters of every day.
