Paula Jean Hartzheim, age 56, went to heaven on Saturday, May 14, 2011 surrounded by family, and her faithful dog Buddy, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 6, 1954 in Neenah, daughter of the late Paul and Viola (Brantmeier) Hartzheim. Paula was a lifetime resident of Menasha.
Paula enjoyed playing cards and darts as well as being with family and friends. Her 3 nephews and 3 great-nieces and great-nephew were a special part of her life. She was able to take a trip this spring to North Carolina to meet her newest great-niece and see the rest of the family.
Paula is survived by her sister, Margaret, "Peg" (Dennis) Piepkorn; 3 nephews: Shane (Sally) Piepkorn, Green Bay, and their girls: Molly and Emily; Andy (Christy) Piepkorn, and their children: Gavin and Julia; Cory Piepkorn, Green Bay; aunts and uncles: Leon Hartzheim (Godfather), Darboy, Dave (Dolores) Hartzheim , Sun City, CA, Grace (Carl) Kessler, Combined Locks, Millie Brantmeier, Menasha, Ed (Elaine) Brantmeier, Menasha; special friends: Sally Montanabo, Menasha, Pat Kersten, Menasha; helpful friends and neighbors: Robin, Chris, Pauline, Bob and Deb.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3:00–5:00 PM on Tuesday May 17, 2011, at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. A Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
