1. THE PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE

This site has been created, as part of the 50 years later, to indirectly re-connect  (even those not attending the September 2021 reunion) STA classmates with each other from the Saint Thomas Academy Class of  '71.

Like the reunion itself which begins on September 22nd (2021), this site is here to re-kindle a spirit  — The Days of Awe, if you can picture Tony Fusco trying to capture those wisps of your smoke, on a campus now smokeless.  So, will you come back again, connecting to all the holy ghosts not there?

Hmmmm... college prep.  The Grasp... deeply graven, learning attachment to PEOPLE, in a Bond so private from teachers affecting everything about your highest education, like a double helix, for all their efforts that money cannot buy.  Do you feel the majesty in what seized your imagination, in what you read, in whom you know, while learning  attachment after letting you in, while Coming of Age?  So, that THING you carry, out of the gradual process of a bond concerning connection and becoming attached.  Do you feel an echo — the elephant in the room, as it were, for a cadet — from the old soldiers... like George Langeland, along with the rest of the Old Guard that dared place something inside youonce directing you, pouring majesty into, still setting your heart aflame ... trying to claim if not possess a majesty inside you?  Some invited like you are, to be there now in a matter of days.  So, this bond still there in you?  The Reach, seeing at the end what became of your efforts, with the mysterious package designed to make you laugh and cry at the same time.... this time in your own words, sharing PRESENCE... like the wisp of smoke, now without the smoke. Trying to hold onto....  one more time?   Fifty years later, That THING attached that you carry inside  the past in the present graven indelibly  COME not to hear, but to dare feel the presence in the the the the the the the the the echo of the past inside an old cadet  The THERE there — and in the stories.  Will you come back to tell stories?

Remember old Glady Kravitz on Bewitched? In everyone, there is an old Gladys Kravitz wanting at least a chance to peak, like at that nose on Bewitched. So even if you aren't coming, you can try to see the ghosted on this website, of old Cadets.  And emails can be shared with each other which is really the purpose of this website.

Everything you need to gain access for the rest of the pages begins on THIS page.  To know about setting up a profile ... the instructions  The THING you leave behind  start HERE.  If you do  have questions, please contact the website administrator, and keep reading.

3. SETTING UP YOUR PROFILE

To access pages which are password protected on this site, you must provide a minimum of your email address, and a password to set up a profile.

To set up a profile: locate the "Classmate Profiles" link.  Locate your name and click.  To create your profile, follow the prompts. Private information like an email address, home address, and phone numbers will not be visible to fellow classmates. Your information will never be given to other classmates without your permission.  In the event about changes in this scheduled event — such as in a worldwide pandemic OR someone demands ransom in order not to destroy all of these profiles — mailing addresses and phone numbers are collected.  There may be need to contact you by phone or traditional mail.

WRITING YOUR PROFILE:

You never created a profile online before?   Well, to get you going, answer the following.

(1)  Residing In:  Of all the places on Earth, why did you select the place where you live?  Where else have you lived?  How have you settled into your community?

(2)    Spouse/Partner: if all the world's a stage, who occupied you for the past 50 years, if you care to say?

(3)  Occupation:  what occupied you for the past 50 years? And are you still amassing continuing education credits...as instructor?

(4)  Children: as a tutor, teacher, coach, in THE SCIENCE OF CONSEQUENCES, did you ever create your replacement, with the emotions of a living creator, if you have them? In hard times, like The Stone Age, was it harder than you ever thought? Did you ever dare create?

(5)  School Story: do you have a poignant moment from this place?  It doesn't have to be hilarious.

(6)  Service:  as peace-keepers, foreign or domestic.  Where? When? So, Church or State?  How?

(7)  Twitter:  "Hey Dad, when the World Was Flat, what was it like?  How old are you?  A gallon of gas was how much?" So this student who said he did not like to answer my questions... did not like my method to discover what he did not know in this Harvard method... in the bigger, stronger, faster world, now so smart.  How did you improve your quickness to get around these giants? What's a dial phone? And you dared call?  You still buy an anti-dandruff shampoo?  Your tweet here.. place your limited Tweet here.

If you feel at this point that you are NOT coming to Mendota Heights, this time, what might make you change your mind?  Opinions often are the product of a single bad experience, in your very own times from long ago — like drinking a wine, like Zinfandel.  One Wine School Tenet is to periodically examine some of your own  biases and stereotypes, and maybe taste again.

A current picture to your profile as a Master Photo, worth a thousand words:  As the master photo to be displayed in various areas around the site, classcreator.com encourages you to add a current picture to your profile.  That is how web design is.  It is said to be "helpful" to upload an additional "now" photo, and a "then" photo.

Updates: If you change your email address, phone number, or snail mail address, please update your own contact information, so Gladys Kravitz  has up-to-date information, in "the know" about a classmate.

If your name is not already on the site, but you were part of the St Thomas Academy Class of 1971, contact us and your name will be added.  However, the listed names here do reflect the mentioned 144 graduates as cited in the graduation day program as well as in  The Citation edition before the June 4, 1971 day of graduation.

Passwords:

Choosing a password:  Passwords need not be the high-security style recommended for some sites. Choose something simple for a certainty that you will remember.  Like Zinfandel.  Clicking the "Remember Me" will allow you to bypass entering the password each time you visit, but eventually the "remember me" will fail (should you, for example, get a new computer).

Please make note of your password!   Now should you forget your password, simply click on "forgot password."  If you have several email accounts, and you don't remember the one you used to set-up your account, contact the website administrator Matt Brophy who surely will not know what to do.  As the answer will lie somewhere in Ann Arbor, Michigan, this could take a while to find out.  So, please be patient.

4. "MISSING" CLASSMATES

Help is needed — your help  — to contact EVERY classmate. If you have information about any listed classmate or not listed, please contact the website administrator.

The wonderful part about this site came pre-setup by Class Creator.  So, all  the website administrator had to do was just enter names.  Based solely on the names of those who don't have profiles, there is a "missing list."  Until you have a profile, ClassCreator.com does consider you "missing."  However, as far as this  commitee, you are considered missing if your email address is unknown.  The following people fit into this category:

Jim Adams, Jeff Berner, John Chilstrom, Richard Conlan, Dale Cummings, Tim Draeger, Mike Ewing, Tom Gage, Ted Goodwin, Brock Graves, Mike Griffin, Chuck Hadro, Ed Jones, Mike Leahy, Herb Lentsch, Jim Murphy, Dave Niedermaier, Randy Schwartz, Alejandro Sepulveda, Greg Silvis, and Jim Taufen.

The following people fit into the category of a missing current mailing address:   Michael Patrick Ewing, Michael J Leahy,  James J. Murphy and Jim Taufen.

Please note, any punctuation placed outside of any parenthesis was done pre-setup by Class Creator.  (And you get what you pay for.  Where have you gone Jim Keane?)  This punctuation placed on the outside of any parenthesis is still considered incorrect by any and all English professors licensed in the United States.  And if someone demands ransom, in hijacking the class webpage, we are NOT paying.

5. COMMUNICATING WITH CLASSMATES

To contact a fellow classmate, directly, simply use the email option at the top left of each Classmate's Profile page (located under Master Photo). This "email option at the top left" feature allows open communication between classmates, while protecting your personal information. If you wish to share your email address or other personal information within a message written on our site, the site will not block you from doing so.

6. ADDING PICTURES TO YOUR PROFILE

Adding current pictures is not a requirement to participate on this site, though certainly a way to become acquainted again.  Even Class Creator has heard reports of classmates running into each other without knowing it, at a Notre Dame football game and not recognizing each other.  Because...well....you have little by lttle changed  over the years!  And then there is your eyesight.

Filling in the photo slots at the top of your Profile:

  • Click "Edit Profile" under MEMBER FUNCTIONS.
  • Roll your cursor over the Master Photo, Then, Now, or Yearbook photo silhouette (note that you cannot upload a yearbook photo if one has already been provided)
  • Click "Select Photo" displayed in the upper right corner of photo, then click the "Upload a New Photo" button.
  • Select the desired photo from your hard drive. You will then be given an opportunity to crop the photo for a perfect fit.

Adding large "Profile Gallery Images" to your Profile:

  • Clicked "Edit Profile" under MEMBER FUNCTIONS.
  • Click the photo tab in the upper right corner of your Profile.
  • You will see any images previously uploaded here. Click the "Upload a New Photo" button to add more.
  • Click to select images you wish to display on your Profile.  All images with a green check mark will display.  Click again to not display, and the green check mark will disappear.
  • To add a caption under your images, roll over any image and select "Edit Details". Enter your caption and press save.
  • Now adjust the display order of your photos by simply dragging and dropping those phtos into the positions of your choosing.

If you are ever curious about any link on the site, just play around and click on it!  There isn't anything on the site which will wreck your computer, Classcreator.com promises.  Really!  So relax!  Enjoy!  And COME BACK!  And it is free.  And did you ever notice in the greatest stories ever told, since the time of Homer's Odyssey, in the story of  the lifting of the Exile of Ovid, the End is supposed to be highlighted by The Comeback?
