It's with great sorrow that we report the death of Jimi Schutte from our MFHS Class of 1967 and St. Anthony Grade School Class of 1963. Iva Hecht notified the Menomonee Falls North Reunion Facebook page with this information from one of his friends:
"Letting the music world know that Wisconsin Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Jimi Schutte, died last week. Jimi was truly amazing. Drummer for Jimmy Dawkins, Lonnie Brooks, Luther Allison and Jim Liban, his unique, solid shuffle was appreciated by all worldwide. About 20 years ago, he started his own group, American Blues. Every gig had an amazing collection of the best players in the Midwest. He was a web-design instructor at MATC and also a terrific photographer. Please visit his Facebook page and peruse his hundreds of photos which tell his story. Jimi was one of my dearest friends for decades, and I was able to speak with him a day before he passed. His cancer had returned with a vengeance and gave him no more time. I will miss him forever! Love you, Jimi."
