Mike and I had so many memories and experiences together, growing up in the same neighborhood, and on the swimming team together.
Our paths diverged during the Vietnam war, due in part to the lottery at the time. He and I both did not want to be put in position to kill the enemy. My full respect to Mike and all who served, but especially to the few like Mike who solved their "moral dilemma" by being a medic in the war and not carrying a weapon. Mike was best man at our wedding shortly after returning from Vietnam.
I talked to Mike on the phone quite a while ago now, and here in 2020 I just found out on this classmate web site, that it was not so long after that conversation he passed a way. In addition to the war, I think Mike lived a tougher life than most of us, certainly compared to my relatively good fortunes in health and family.
