Ray lived in my neighborhood. There was a little soda shop/newsstand at the corner of Pratt St and Camp St, that the neighborhood kids hung out in. That's where I met Ray. He was into Doo-Wop music. He'd come to my house with his records and we'd all listen. I love Doo-Wop music to this day thanks to Ray. I was so sorry to hear when he died. He was a good guy and his death was tragic.
He was in a wheelchair. I think he had MS or something like that. We had lost touch. I didn't find out until some years after it happened. There was a fire in his building and he didn't get out.
