To the MHS Class of 1967:
I want to thank the Committee and all of the members of the Class of 1967 for the privilege of being invited to attend your 50th Class Reunion last Saturday night. It was truly a well-organized, meaningful and joyful event with just the right touch of reminiscence as well. I felt as if we were all together attending the opening night of a dynamic and highly acclaimed play. The direction, choreography, setting and events were superb. And so, too, were all of you who attended, so genuine and honest in your affection for each other and for the memories you shared.
I was particularly touched by your recognition of those classmates who had served in the military and of those who had died over the years. The flowers you gave me were beautiful and greatly appreciated. They brought back memories of the many ways you thanked us, your sponsors, when we chaperoned your dances, proms, senior outing and graduation. Do you remember the beautiful signature pins you gave Mrs. Fassler and myself? Do you remember that you gave Mr.Gannon an airplane ticket so that he could return from graduate school for your graduation? And that brings me, of course, to the memories of those two fine men, Bob Russell and Denis Gannon, who served as role models for all of us. How I wish all four of us could have been there to intermingle with you!
Finally, I want to thank each one of you who stopped by to share with me a personal memory or observation of how I might have influenced your young life in a positive direction. You cannot imagine how much that meant to me. I hope and pray that all of you did take some positive steps along the way based on the education you received at Maloney.
I loved you then and I love you now. I hope that our paths will continue to cross for many years to come.
