Andrew Navarro

Andrew Jackson Navarro, 66, passed away on April 3, 2013 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born on September 11, 1946 to Andres and Carmen Navarro. Andy grew up in Miami, Florida where he graduated from Christopher Columbus High School.

He attended Florida State University and graduated with a degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. Andy taught History for 32 years at North Miami Beach HS and Miami Norland Senior High. He served as the debate and tennis coach during his tenure. Andy was a passionate teacher and adored by his students.

Andy was married to Rona Navarro.They were each other's best friends. Andy was an avid tennis player, stamp collector, Seminole fan, animal lover and led the beautification committee for the Golden Eagle Home Owners Association. Andy was a kind and caring man who was admired and loved by his friends and family.

Andy is survived by his wife, Rona of Tallahassee, his son Andrew (Jenn) of Powell, Ohio, his daughter Laurie (Andy) Masters of Plantation, Florida and his beloved grandchildren, Ashley, Sydney, Addison, McKenna, Landon, Hunter and Hannah.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 12:00 at Culley's Meadow Wood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Rd, Tallahassee, Florida.
