Diane Weaver Busch

I started teaching in New York State in 1972, after graduating from the U of M. I earned a Master's Degree from Binghamton University and certification as a School Administrator/Supervisor from SUNY Cortland. After teaching Special Education for 21 years, I became a vice-principal, followed by principal at the secondary level. I retired after a very rewarding 37 years of educational service.

I have 2 beautiful daughters. The oldest (social work manager) lives in Philadelphia and has 2 young children. My youngest daughter lives in Madrid, Spain and teaches English and sings.

My husband and I now live 6 months in Port St. Lucie and 6 months in New York. It feels great to return to the east coast of Florida and be in close proximity to the old neighborhood!

Loved the band trip to Washington DC on the train.....to play for the Cherry Blossom Festival. So much fun.

We attended school at a wonderful time, all of us well groomed and well dressed, without the problems that plague today's students. My Miami friends and I have numerous idyllic memories of football games at Central Stadium, sock hops, pep ralleys and all of those Saturdays we spent on Miracle Mile. Not to mention, never being afraid to venture out alone or wait on a cornor for a bus!
