Many thanks to those of you who have been working diligently to make this Reunion happen. Your time and effort is appreciated (I know, easy for me to say).
Looking forward to doing a little "catch-up" with other Mustang alums. 30 plus years is a long time and yet I really don't think any of us has changed all that much have we? OK, I'm not talking about the gray hair, glasses and my extra poundage, but I like to think I'm basically the same guy I was back in '76, just a bit older, a bit wiser, but essentially the same guy.
Of course, a lot has happened: Went onto college after high school. Graduated in 1980. Got married and moved around Eastern Bay Area and Central Valley quite a bit in earlier 80's. Settled in Modesto back in 1987. Raised two boys (Tom and Brian, now adults); divorced early '90's; obtained professional engineering license in early '95; married again in October 1995 to Shari Larsen.
Met up againg with some of you in the summer of 1997 at the 20 Plus year reunion (again, thanks to the organizers!).
Got reaquainted with Brien and Kathey Crothers...Brien joined Shari and I (among other modesto friends) on a trip to Africa in early 1998 to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. This was a significant life changing experience. Traveled with many of the same group again in to Peru (Kathey came along this time) primarily to see the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. Shari and I definately have the travel bug and have taken several additional overseas trips.
Our son, Tom graduated from college in '04, was married in October '07 and currently resides in Chicago. Our other son, Brian, graduated from college last spring and is living in Portland, Oregon.
Enjoyed visits to Cobb Mountain this past few years to attend the "Cobbstock" outdoor concerts. Of course, I'm a bit bias in support of the bass player (go Don!) in the headliner band (Prather Brothers Band). It was fun to meet up with some of you there after many years.
I am still living in Modesto with Shari and plan to retire here. I work for a small engineering company that is known for its integrity and attention to detail. Music has always been one of my hobbies and I play semi-regularly in a duo (plus others from time to time). You can find us on an occasional Saturday night playing at one of downtown Modesto's venues. Most of the music we play is from the late '60's and '70's, sort of an acoustic folk/rock genre. Fun stuff!
