I remember Jupe Barceloux; a big 'ole happy & loveable guy. He was a teacher's aid and would help in the class room. (This may have been prior to 1977, so not many of you may remember). Didn't his mom work in the library?
I remember Jupe too...he used to LOVE to watch me watch the pep rallies, because I hated them! He was friends with my older brother, Brian, and so he sometimes came over to our house. I used to hide wherever I could at school when it was time for a pep rally, but the staff eventually learned where my hiding places were and they'd drag me to the gym/multi-purpose room. Guess I made some awful faces, because Jupe told me how entertaining it was to watch me! I didn't have a real fun high school experience so I had no school spirit. But at least I was free entertainment for Jupe! He was a real sweet guy.
Jupe was a great guitarist. I remember in our freshman/sophmore years in Dick Morse's guitar class how Jupe would blow us away with his rock-ability. He taught us a lot and was a kick to play music with. I'm sad to learn of his passing. The man had great zest for life and fun. And yes, I believe that his mother did work in the library as Jeanette remembers.
