Burton Lewis Stickney "Pickle", 55, of Midland, TX, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011, surrounded by his family. He now rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father. He was born October 26, 1956, to Teddy L. and Francis C. Stickney in Hobbs, NM. He moved to Midland, with his family in June 1959. Burt graduated from Midland High School in 1974. He later joined his father, Francis Stickney, in the family owned oil and gas business, F.C. Stickney, Inc. The company later became Stickney Oil & Gas, Inc. Burt's greatest joy was fishing and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the lake. Burt is preceded in death by his father, Francis C. Stickney, and uncles, Joe and Frank Stickney. He is survived by his wife, Martha Vega Stickney of Midland; two daughters, Angela Vega DeAnda and husband, Fabian, Theresa Vega Ozuna and husband, Benjamin, both of Midland; his mother, Teddy Lou Stickney of Midland; two sisters, Beverly Gordon and husband, Doug of Carrollton, TX, Deborah Allard and husband, David of Tulsa, OK; one brother, James Scott Stickney of The Colony, TX; five grandchildren, Gabriel Vega, Estella and Abigail DeAnda, and Ryan and Ethan Ozuna, all of Midland; six nieces and nephews, Samuel Gordon and wife, Laura of Portland, OR, Meghan Gordon of Washington, DC, Graham Allard of Tulsa, OK, Mika, Celeste and Zane Stickney, of The Colony, TX; aunts and uncles and numerous friends and acquaintances throughout the community.
