While it is always hard to lose a class member, losing Charmaine is really hard. She was a quiet and reserved person at school, but a gentle and calming influence, which I always appreciated. Her becoming a nurse later in life made total sense as her nature was to give care and nurturing to those around her without seeking recognition. The world is less one tremendously good soul now.
I was so saddened to learn of Mont's death. Having just worked with him and his wife on the reunion committee and seen him at the 55th reunion, he was so vibrant and energetic to get things done, always offering to do so many things to create a successful reunion. His guided tour of the new Hillcrest campus was so informative (he did have significant infput into the new design) and humorous. His organizational skills and his grand ability to follow through on committments were exemplary and I learned so much from him. His example in life is a strong legacy for his family and for us, as friends to follow. He will be tremendously missed, a true Husky to the end.

Debi, it was fantastic to see you again at the reunion. Thanks for our chat and for remembering me. I so enjoyed knowing you in high school and being friends in singing (choirs and musicals!!). You are one of the people I was hoping to see and visit with at the reunion.
Debbie, so glad that you joined the class of '68 website. We hope you enjoy seeing everything that is here and that you make some reconnections. We hope you will share some recent photos and information about you! Welcome!
I was hoping to see Gaylin at the reunion next month because he was one of my favorite people in the class. It was so nice to be with him in Chamber Choir and to get to know his personality and ambitions. I wish his family the best as the adjust to life without him.
I knew Clark in junior high and our sophomore year. He was a great drummer. I reconnected with him on FaceBook and learned of his illness that crippled him and put him in great pain. At least now he is free from pain and can regale his tales and stories to those who passed before him. I had planned to visit him while I was in Utah for the reunion, but will now honor his memory.
Gordon, Welcome to the class website. We hope you can find good information and will enjoy reconnecting with classmates. Hopefully you will be able to attend the 55th reunion on October 5 at the high school. It'd be great to see you again!
Welcome to the site, John and Naomi! I always admired you, John, and it was interesting to hear about your life post-Hillcrest. I hope you can find some interesting things here on the class webpage. I am sorry to hear about your stroke. I have had several family members go through the same experience. Know that you always have a friend here!
I grew up with Rex from first grade on. He and his family lived just across the field from me growing up. If you remember the old chicken hotel that was just south of the high school parking lot, that is where Rex grew up. I remember when he was pole vaulting in 9th or 10th grade and fell and was badly injured. After that the school got landing pads for both the pole vault and the high jump pits. Yet Rex stoically endured his injury and didn't allow it to define him. I will miss him and his gentle soul.
Welcome to the class website, David. It is great to hear from you. I hope you can reconnect with classmates and get to know some you didn't know well before. Share some photos with everyone, if you are of a mind to do that. We are glad that you are here!!
I am so sad to learn of Layne's passing. I grew up with him in Union and knew him at church and school. Our famliies were good friends and it is hard to think of this world without him. He was a part of the group of guys our age from our ward who hung out together, like Bill Player, Allen Anderson, Mike Mangum, Michael McCleery, and Dennis Doty. Layne was smart and funny and a jokester, which I believe he got from his Dad. Needless to say, he is missed!
