After our collective fun at MHS (forever the Redskins!), I attended the University of Michigan for both undergraduate studies and law school. While it was hard to leave our great state, upon graduating from law school I headed south to Columbus, Ohio, first to clerk for a federal court of appeals judge and then to join Jones Day, an international law firm, where I have worked for over 10 years. I'm a business and constitutional litigator, with an emphasis on appellate litigation. I'm also active in the community, having started a charter school in Columbus while serving as a chair of the United Way's Young Leadership Group as well as a member of numerous legal organizations and the State Dental Board, which I was appointed to serve on by the Governor. I've dabbled in politics and other community activities, and I still jog/run, albeit just as slow as I did in high school. Last summer, I spent an amazing month in Europe with a small group of American young professionals as fellows with the German Marshall Fund. Our travels took us throughout Europe, including to Germany, which I had not visited since doing so with great friends from MHS in high school.
I've been married and divorced, and I have a wonderful four-year-old daughter, who keeps me very busy. And while I've now been in Columbus for over a decade, I have yet to lose my maize and blue roots.
