I went in the Marine Corps right after High School, and spent a year in the states and a year in Vietnam, came home and married Bonnie. We divorced in 82. Got married again in 86. Worked at the VA in West Milwaukee from the time I got out of the Marines. Got an apprenticeship as a Mason and did that for about 5 years, then became a Supervisor in charge of Grounds Maintenance and Transportation. I had up to 50 people working for me until they started cutting back, and back and back. When I retired 2 years ago, we were down to 17 people. I had to contract allot of the stuff out that we use to do. A sign of the times. I met Kathy at the VA, and she still works there. She has a little over 4 years to go. She works in the Fiscal area, and is in charge of all the credit cards. We spend most of the Summer cruising around the state on the Harley, and usuallly spend a few weeks in Florida during the Winter. Alan Spiegel and I have been close all these years. He retired a year before me, and we spend allot of time together fishing and hunting. It's good to be retired!!!
We're still in the area. When Kathy and I got married, we moved South a little, and then ended up buying a home in Oak Creek about 11 years ago.
I was tired of school and had made up my mind to enlist in the Marine Corps.
We have allot of close friends that are also Harley riders, so we want to plan a nice trip along the Mississippi. There's allot of beautiful country out there to see.
Outside of the obvious, like the second marriage and the grandchildren, I would have to say last year Kathy and I got to ride in the 105Th Harley Anniversary Parade. That was like a once in a life time experience. Really something to be a part of. Seeing all of those thousands of people yelling and cheering and waving flags. Really overwhelming.

My condolences to Becky and the family. It is really hard to believe he’s gone. Wally, Al Spiegel, Jack Goodwin, Kerry Donnell, John Pollack and I did many, many wild and crazy things together, during and after high school, and when they were in college. We always had great times together. I’ll never forget those times. I’ve shared many of the crazy stories with my two sons, and other friends. They always bring smiles and laughs. Wally and I met a few times at the Harley Anniversaries. Always a good time. We emailed each other. I asked him how the weather was just the other day. He said skiing in the mountains is great…Rest in peace my friend. God Bless.
Have a Great day young lady, and an even better New Year!!
Happy birthday buddy. Now you are as old as Wally. I'm next. What's going on? We are should have been dead a long time ago. Merry Xmas too.
