Robert J Jensen

Age 82, of St. Paul, MN, and Sun Lakes, AZ, passed peacefully in his sleep at Lyngblomsten on October 7, 2025.

Bob was born, along with his twin brother Dick, on December 21, 1942, to Holger Victor and Cecelia Louise Jensen in Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded in death by his big brother Ron and beloved sister Barb (Ryan).

A graduate of Roosevelt High School, Bob was an accomplished Olympic weightlifter and bodybuilder, earning numerous accolades throughout his life. Among his many achievements, he was an Olympic Weightlifting MN State Champion, Midwest Teenage Champion, and was recognized for having the “Best Abdominals” in the 1974 Mr. Minnesota competition. He proudly won the Mr. Minnesota Senior Division in 2003.

Bob’s early career centered around fitness — working in and owning several sports and health clubs. He later transitioned into real estate, serving as a commercial broker with Real Estate Dynamics before founding his own company, First Home Services, where he specialized in helping first-time homebuyers achieve their dreams of homeownership.

Beyond his professional life, Bob had many passions: boating on the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers, playing tennis, collecting classic cars, enjoying card games with his buddies, listening to music, and spending cherished time with his grandsons, Dominic and Christian (Skally).

Above all, the love of his life was his beloved Maryann (Sarauer), with whom he shared 38 wonderful years.

Bob is survived by his twin brother Dick; his sons Eric Allen Jensen (with his first wife, Kathleen); and Matthew William Jensen Skally (Christina Ann Marie Skally) and Nicholas Joseph Jensen Skally (with his second wife, Cynthia).

I have known Bob since second grade and continued being friends to this date. I knew Bob to be a kind and gentle person. Remembering the days at Standish, Folwell, and Roosevelt. We had enjoryable times and get togethers for; poker, our motorcycles, many lunches, etc. I send my condolences to Bob's family and especially  to his best friend and love Maryann who showed her love for Bob especially during his need for care. Bob we will miss you.    Gene Peterson

I echo Gene's comments re:our mutual life long friend Bob Jensen. We had been visiting Bob for some time and had been rehashing our many adventures on our numerous cruises up and down both the St. Croix and Mississippi rivers. We also recalled our many motorcycle adventures and misadventures that would and should never be repeated to his children or grandchildren and I'm quite sure they werent and thankfully so.  He was a dedicated old salt and had many different boats/yachts through the years. They all needed tender loving care when purchased and due to his attention to detail and the time necessary he took to iron out the smallest  imperfection they were shipshape by the time the ice left the river each Spring. I'll also never forget and will dearly miss our fiercely fought tennis matches that continued for at least 50 years. He was a dear friend and through our mutual travels and moves we maintained contact both near and far and i'll miss him dearly.
