Obituary of Diane Mohrbacher Mathison

Diane Mohrbacher Mathison

July 4, 1942 – February 18, 2025

Diane Caroline Mohrbacher Mathison, age 82 of Lakeville, Minnesota passed away on February 18, 2025, after a slow decline from pancreatic insufficiency and dementia. She had family by her side and passed peacefully at her home in Kingsley Shores Senior Living in Lakeville.

Diane was born and was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960. She was married and had two boys, Scott and Tim, whom she raised in Prior Lake, Minnesota before meeting and spending 33 wonderful years in Lakeville with her lifetime partner, Ken Haglund, before he passed away on March 9, 2021. Diane spent the majority of her career as an airline reservations agent, starting with North Central and retiring from Delta in 2007. She enjoyed travel and took countless trips discovering the world with Kenny, family and friends over the years. The two also enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling and spent many years at Lake Osakis.

She and Kenny were incredibly social, hosting friends and family at their home in Lakeville where the door was always open (literally!). They enjoyed a great laugh, playing cards with friends and sharing stories. Diane’s stubborn and feisty personality affectionately earned her the nickname “The Boss” from Kenny. The two of them made a great pair and are greatly missed by many.

Diane is survived by her two sons Scott (Kristin) and Tim (Julie); grandchildren Meg and Jack; Kenny’s sons Keith (Cheryl) and Kevin (s/o Marcie Wagner); grandchildren Matt and Michael (fiancé Maggie Klehr); Diane’s siblings Bob (Pat) and Donis (Mike) and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Again a former student I don't remember. I was on the work progral from Feb 1960 til graduation. So no senior dances or activities. worked at Appliance shop on 29 and 42 street from Feb 1960-march 1964 when I was drafted. I liked history so I remember French-Indochina but no Viet Nam. Diane M would be close to me alphabetticly being a PU ..

I am so sorry to learn of Diane's passing.  Diane and I were friends kindergarten through high school and beyond.  We lost touch after I moved to Florida but I always considered her a cherished friend and part of wonderful memories.  My sincere condolences to her family and friends. Rest in peace my friend.
