Don was a wonderful guy.  He will be missed.  We were in the same homeroom at Nokomis Jr High for 3 years and shared many classes at Roosevelt as well as being on the Sagamore Staff together.  He was responsible for the most memorable moment in our Senior Class Play!

Don was "Poffie" among our Bethany Church group always fun to be with.  In 1961 while golfing at Hiawatha, I walked into the next fairway to hit my errant shot & there was Poffie ready to t-off about 50 yards away.  They gave a warning & I did a little dance saying "hit away".  Poffie hit one of those three foot screamers hitting me flush on the thigh.  I pretended it didn't hurt & Poffie said I cost him a stroke.  I had a painful black & blue welt for over a week. We laughed about it at our 50th class reunion.
