Dale L. Nelson

Dale L. Nelson, of Burnsville, MN passed away peacefully February 13, 2025 at age 83. A loving father, Dale is survived by son and daughter-in law Greg and Anne Nelson. 

Dale was preceded in death by his wife Peggy of 49 years, and parents Henry and Evelyn Nelson. He is survived by sisters Sandy Vacanti (Doug Sibbet), of Eden Prairie, MN and Karole (Tom) Perkins of California, plus nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends. 

Born in Roslyn, South Dakota on January 29, 1942, Dale attended Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Dale's long career as a technology disaster recovery expert included work for several Minnesota companies. 

Passionate about sports from a young age, Dale played football, basketball and baseball. A pitching injury ended his time with the Philadelphia Phillies Triple-A organization. And golf was a lifelong love. 

Kindness, calm and humility were hallmarks of Dale's personality. He leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. 

The family greatly appreciates the staff at Southview Acres Health Care Center, West St. Paul. 

Dale will be honored at a celebration of life at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to CurePSP at www.psp.org. Arrangements: Crescent Tide, St. Paul.
