55 Year Reunion

September 14th, 2024

Can you believe it's been fifty-five years since we last walked the halls together, shared laughter, and forged friendships that have stood the test of time?

The organizing committee has begun work to ensure that this reunion becomes a cherished memory. We hope that you’ll be able to join us for an evening filled with joy, laughter, and memories as we come together to celebrate the journeys we've taken since our high school days.

We are early in the planning stage, so there’s not a lot to share with you right now, but our plans will include:

  • A tour of SWHS on Friday afternoon. Time to be determined.
  • Our traditional Friday night meet & greet at Bunny’s Bar & Grill in St. Louis Park on September 13, 2024, from 4pm to whenever.
  • The main event is at The Minikahda Club in Minneapolis on Saturday, September 14 from 6pm to 11pm.
    • This is intended to be a casual event. There is a dress code that will be spelled out in the invitation, but no denim is the only thing that could likely affect us.
    • The evening will begin with registration, then a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres.
    • A delicious and varied buffet dinner will be served in the main ballroom followed by entertainment that will transport you back to our high school days.

Minikahda hasn’t finalized their 2024 pricing, so no info on cost yet, but we will keep the cost as affordable as possible.

Please mark your calendar for September 13 and 14! Whether you’ll be travelling across an ocean, the country, or just around the corner, we look forward to reconnecting, reminiscing, and creating new memories together. Let's make this reunion a night to remember!

A special note: We will not be using any USPS mailed postcards or invitations. All information will come to you through emails from our website and announcements on the homepage. Keep your email address up to date and watch for them.

The Southwest Rouser
by Kenneth Dixon, Class of 1943

 Cheer South-west on to vic-tor-y
Cheer her on to-day,
Spread her fame and her fair name,
With constant loy-al-ty

RAH RAH

March on South-west, March on-ward;
Victory's sure this time.
Fight for the pur-ple and white
Fight Southwest Fight!

Let's shout it from the hill-tops
Prove it every way.
Tell the world we're here to see
A Southwest vic-tor-y!

 RAH RAH

When from these halls we leave thee
Loyal we will be
True to the pur-ple and white
Fight Southwest Fight.
