Comments:

I am a full time student at the University of Minnesota, finishing a degree I started a long time ago, and it feels great. I am studying Environmental Science, with a double minor in Political Science and Writing and have 3 more semesters to graduate.

I have owned my own business, been Director of a nonprofit, spent some time in corporate management, but most importantly I define myself as an alpine ski coach. The majority of the years have been deeply involved coaching alpine ski racing at the club and national level. I have been fortunate to have coached hundreds of highly motivated, intelligent kids, and am privileged to have had a number of athletes named to the US Ski Team.

In 2000 I as the coach, along with a small group of parents started the Minneapolis Alpine Ski Team, which is a cooperative of all the high schools(and middle schools) in Minneapolis. There had not been high school ski racing in the city for almost 20 years, Washburn and Southwest dropped skiing in the early 80’s. Though I left after three seasons, MAST is going strong (45 athletes), with the boys State Champion in 2007, Patrick Conway from Southwest.

My wife Deborah and I have been together for 22 years, no children, but cats. We spend a good deal of time at our cottage in northwest Wisconsin, and do a lot of cycling and river kayaking.
