JAMES BABCOCK

1973 - Mark Laska and I rode our bikes 1100 miles in 30 days form Minnnesota to Colorado.
1977 - Married My wife Peggy.
1978 - Peggy and I traveled to Colombia South America as short term Missionaries.
1980 - Graduated from U of MN with a B.A. in Latin American Studies.
1979 to 2000 - Employed for several companies providing paratransit services for people with disabilities. Drove, dispatched,scheduled, as well as sixteen plus years in managemnet positions.
2000 to present - Metro Transit Bus Driver and Relief Dispatcher.
2003 & 2005 Traveled to Tijuana, Mexico on short term mission trip.
2004 - Traveled to China tovisit my daughter who was living and working there for a year.

Currently focused on paying off college loans, preparing for retirement, and spending time with my wife and family.

-I remember going to the Gem cafe for breakfast befor school started.
-I remember driving to the Macdonalds in St. Louis Park to eat and getting back to gym class a few minutes late.
-I remember our class talking Ms. Boardman into throwing out test questions we did not answer correctly.
-I remember being the only guy left in the Spanish class as a Junior.
-I remember the Track team humming the Laurel & Hardy theme song when Bailey & Krominga got on the bus for away Track Meet.
- I remember falling asleep in Ms. Westby's class during films. I learned to write papers in her Humanities course which helped tremendously in college. Up until eary 2008 she lived in the same senior apartment building as my mom. I was very happy I had the opportunity to thank her for being one of the best if not the best teacher I had at West.
-I remember coming out to my car(a 1965 Plymouth Fury with a slant 6) in the parking lot and finding a couple guys smoking dope in it. I was pretty straight laced in high school so my reaction was pretty dramatic.
-I remember Baxter playing bluegrass on the stairwell.
-Behrendts candy sales and preamble punishment.
-Matsis's sayings on the wall.
-Mr.Hovey the greatest susbstitute.
-Eating breakfast in the locker room after early morning track practice.
