January 05, 2019 – MHS Class of 69 – 50th

The sixth meeting at the American Legion 

Classmates in attendance: Medardo de Leon, Randy Powell, Judy de la Garza,  Thelma Sanchez, Ramon Sanchez, Juan Ramos, Eliseo Pompa, Tony Martinez,  Paulette Jones,  Peggy Fisher, Sylvia Vera, Alma Aranda and Ana Lozano 

1. Old Business:

1.  Treasurer’s Report: Judy de la Garza passed out a January Financial Report to each committee member.  Judy opened a bank account with Texas Regional Bank with $670.00 on 12/10/18. On 01/03/19 a check for $279.16 to Cimarron was made and the ending balance as of January 5, 2019 is $390.84.

The initial deposit was made to Cimarron Country Club for a total of $837.16. On 11/07/18 a partial deposit of $558.00 (cashier check) and second part of deposit ($279.16), was made by Judy on 01/03/19. 

The next deposit of $1,674.32 is due by 03/24/19. A final deposit of $837.16 is due by 05/08/19. The committee is responsible for at least 100 persons in attendance on Saturday night at the Cimarron Country Club. The fee of $40.00 per person includes gratuity. 

2. Classmates'up-date: The members of the committee went over the classmates list and updated it. We were able to get in touch with a few more classmates.  Committee members turned in the monies and Judy issued receipts.  Eliseo Pompa, Tony Martinez and Juan Ramos paid their fee and were issued receipts by Judy

II.  New Business

1. . Venue for first night:  There was a brief discussion on changing the venue for June 21^st to either American Legion (tail gate party) or to Riverside.  After a brief discussion, we tabled it till the next meeting at which time we will take a vote.  Robert Garza was not present at the meeting, so we decided to wait till next meeting to decide.  This will hold up announcements via social media or through local restaurants, or any other form of communication
2.  Set up committees

1.  Activities:  Line Dancing: Ana Lozano and Regina FunkDoor Prizes: Judy de la Garza and Thelma Sanchez

2.  Decorations: Paulette Jones 

3.  Fun Raisers (for door prizes) ??

4.  Golf Tournament: Robert Garza, Medardo de Leon and Lupe Moreno

5.  Memory Table: Irma Perez and Judy de la Garza

6.  Welcome Table: Alma Aranda and Sylvia Vera

3. Suggestions:

Discussion to Honor the Veterans of classmates of MHS Class of 69 with pictures in uniform 

Show pictures of classmates while in high school, but not in yearbook (2 per person)

             Map of Texas and US with pins for each classmate. 

             Birthday game for years 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952

Inquire into a block of rooms for out- of- towners (Home 2) Ware Rd,.Mission, Texas

Next Meeting is scheduled for February 01, 2019 at CWV- Mission at 5 p.m.
