Dave and I were brothers from different mothers. We met at Brownings Field Playground. Kenny Zeigler introduced us. When one of us were stumped on a topic, between the two of us we could almost always find an answer. It might not be the right answer, but at least we had an answer. Rest in Piece my friend Jim Kron

Dave and I were good friends!  My most special memories of him are dancing at sock hops at John Deere Junior High School!  Such fun times!  Rest in peace to one of the best of Moline 🙏🏻  MHS 1966

I didn't know Dave Coopman in high school. But later, I was grateful for his recollections of Moline broadcasters that appeared at Moline Memories--and for his loving recall of everything Moline. Who else would remember Jack Sontag tickling the ivories on Especially for You or Fat Pat Patterson on KSTT. When I attended the 2001 reunion, I think it was Dave who gave me the prize for having the youngest rugrat on the scene. Made me feel welcome in a crowd I hadn't seen since 1966.

Dave was somebody who was always there. Whenever I was stumped about a Moline historical fact, I called on Dave for a sure answer. We met at John Deere Jr. High but he was ever present all these years. I feel blessed to have called him friend. May he rest in peace.
