Did you all enjoy yourselves at the reunion? Couldn't make it, but I did one thing better. My boys, all four of them, were at my mom's house on 23 avenue watching the parade. They told me they saw my class reunion group. Did any of you see them? They were positioned by the old Schwinn bicycle shop on the sidewalk in front of my mom's house (across from Adolph's tacos). I am currently preparing myself for church tomorrow, I wonder if any of you will be attending church tomorrow after tonight? You may need to???? Hope to see some of you in the near future.

I really enjoyed seeing so many classmates that I hung out with/played sports with/had classes with. Even after 25 years I have to say most people looked relatively the same. I need to bottle up some of that energy Ruberg was displaying on the dance floor last night!

Big kudos to the planning committee. You guys did a fantastic job. Glad to hear the website is going to keep running. Look forward to seeing everyone again at the next reunion.

Hats off to Tracy & Chris for all their hard work in keeping the 25th Reunion alive! Also, thanks to Mike Martel for coordinating the golf outing on Friday. It was a great success and my wife and I had an excellent time! Hope to see everyone at the 30th and that you all got home safely. Cheers! BT

Back in Arlington Heights safe and sound. Great seeing everyone and thanks to Tracy and Chris for pulling it off with class. Mike Martel too on the golf. It was all good for the soul. Wow, out past 2, 2 nights in a row. When was the last time that happenned? Back to the reality of work tomorrow. Crap! DK

I just wanted to give everyone who helped in any way on the reunion a great big THANK YOU!! It was so fun to see everyone and I can't wait to see everyone's pictures. I will upload our pictures as soon as possible, but I think I need a good week of rest! I've been sleeping all day!! Do we have to go back to the reality of adult life tomorrow? Work? Kids? etc.... ahh! Thanks again to everyone who assisted in making the reunion such a great success. I hope everyone had a great time and had safe travels home.

What a weekend! WOW, we did it!!! I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Tracy Burdick Reitan for all of her hard work in researching and creating our AWESOME website! Mike Martel, thank you for your help with the pub crawl and golf outing, Renee Hugaert, and Tracey Murphy Williams for helping out with transportation and decorations among other things. Christy Bertelsen Jesuit/Denise Crozier Marcus thanks for helping with the decorations. The reunion committee worked very hard to make this event happen, so we are pleased to hear that you all had a good time. We had a great group of people who came Saturday AM to help decorate and I want to send a big THANK YOU out to them as well. The committee encourages you all to continue to use this website as a means of communication to stay in contact with your classmates. We hope see you all again in 5 years if not before! Thanks again reunion committee for all your hard work and dedication in making our 25th class reunion happen, and thank you to those of you who were able to attend for making it a success....we certainly could not have done without you! I look forward to the updated profiles to see your pictures and read your stories of the 25th!!! Thanks everyone! Chris Castle

You GUYS!! My stomach and facial muscles hurt from laughing so hard all weekend!! I too would like to thank Tracy, Chris and the entire committee for pulling off this great event. I swear, I haven't had that much fun in a looooooooooong time. As you all know, I took a zillion pictures. I will upload them to Snapfish tomorrow and then post the link on this Forum. That way, you can browse through all of them (and order any that you like). John Carius needs help figuring out how to click on a link ... can someone help him? Haaaaaaaaaa!

On a side note, when I stepped off the plane tonight back here in California, I was a little sad. Being back there and seeing you all made me miss my home in Moline. I feel very fortunate to have grown up in such a family oriented town with so many hardworking, honest and goodhearted people. The weather is great out here but there's no place like Wharton Field House on a Friday night in the fall. :(

Thanks again to the committee. I'll definitely be back in 2013!

P.S. Much to Doug The Pug's dismay, I vote for jeans again in 2013!!! :)

Ya know I only went to the reunion to see my buddy Mike Marcus, because I hadn't seen him for a few years. I must admit I had fun seeing all of you and sharing a few drinks! Did the class of 83 drink Christopher D's place out of "COLD" beer ? There wasn't any to be had after we all got there........lol Thanks to all who who pulled this off. I will be looking forward to the 30th reunion!

Hello everyone.
I just wanted to say what a great time I had Friday and Saturday. Seeing everyone brought back so many memories. It did not feel like 25 years had gone by so quickly. During conversations it felt like we had just seen each other at school the day before, well maybe the friday after a long weekend. After all 25 years is a quarter of a century. As long as we stay young at heart. I must say after this weekend the "Class of 83" can still put away the booze.
Thanks everyone for being there and lets remember those that could not attend.
I hope we can keep this site up and running for a long time. It will be great for keeping updated on everyone

Hats off to the reunion commitee for an awesome job on everything this past weekend. I know I speak for everyone who attended when I say that this was a first class act, and your hard work was definitely recognized and very much appreciated!!! Thanks for the pin head bear award by the way.

The weekend "flew by" way too fast. Looking around the room on Friday and Saturday nights and catching up with everyone, confirmed the fact that I feel extremely blessed to know such an outstanding group of classmates!

BE SAFE!!!

John

I want to give kudos to the entire reunion committee as well! That was well planned out & I think everyone in attendance had a blast! I know I did. It was great seeing everyone. Some I still see after all this time & some I haven't seen in 25 years! Kara, we have to stay in touch & it was great meeting your husband. Deidre & Cathy - it was like old times again. Everyone please continue with this website & lets stay in touch as much as possible. I'm looking forward to the 30th! I just recently moved from East Moline back to Moline so I'm back where I belong! Take care everyone who went back to their lives away from Moline but please stay in touch through this website! I can't wait for the photos to be put out here! Thanks Deidre for all the photos you took!

By the way----

Does Phil Gomez get the "Only Classmate who Looks Exactly the Same and Still Doesn't Have a Wrinkle" award or what?????

John, I know!!! We should have had awards or something. Maybe next reunion???

I think Phil had to show his ID for drinks. As DK and I discussed, Phil is going to receive the Dick Clark award.

Schrupp - I'm glad you made it, man. And Happy Birthday again. Dennis, good comments, it's the classmates who didn't or couldn't attend that might be struggling through mid-life and could use a pick-me-up from an old friend. J, thanks for listening. Yeah Den, we can still drink like champs - but the difference is that the recovery time is now measured in days instead of hours. Take care everybody. DKA

Doug I hear that.......my gal and I are still moving a little slow today! Was great seeing you too Doug! Really great comments Dennis! I'm glad I went now. And this forum and this website, whoever made the call on it........OUTSTANDING! We can all be in touch a little more

Deidre---
Great idea to post the link to your photos! I can't wait to see them. I wish I had brought my camera Friday night too. Bummer. Anyway--everyone please post a link to your photos or put a few on your profile. I'll see you guys in 5 years---I'll still be here! I like the idea of awards for next time--I agree with Phil for "most unchanged" male and Laura Dabney for "most unchanged" female. That's a compliment you two! :-)

I can't take it...ohhh agony, agony. I am glad to hear you all had a great time. I am just pouting because I could not make it this year. Health permitting I will be there for the 5 year. I plan on making a quick run to Moline on the weekend of November 13/14 and look forward to seeing anyone who got stranded and spent their bus money boozing it up downtown.

I live vicariously through all my classmates of 83. I think my face may even be smoother because of channeling Phil G and Laura D!!!

Take care all and feel free to keep in touch. We have very few neighbors and I fear I am becoming a hermit. May even grow a beard longer than Jim Warrens!!!

If anyone is cruising through the Knoxville, TN area give me a holler.

Ditto to the committee on a job very well done. Dawn and I had a great time both Friday and Saturday and none of it would have happened with out all of your hard work.

It was so cool seeing and catching up with everyone this weekend, I don't know the last time I laughed so hard and had that good of a time. As for drinking, I blame Anderson for my all day hang over Saturday; having me taste the vodka sour and getting me to switch after many beers. What's that saying again, “Beer before liquor never have a bigger headache in the morning EVER (or something like that)”!

Saturday night was a bit rough at first, but thanks to Dan Frieden, the peer pressure was just too much............hair of the dog.

Talking with Christy, Tim Caldwell and Craig Williams was a blast; those old stories will never die, even though we’d like to bury them never to be found again. Sorry for sharing Christy, we just couldn’t help ourselves. LOL

Dawn wants to thank Kimber for making her night....the story with poor Todd Suttle which she thought was Tod Taskarud; what a hoot.

Dawn and I want to thank everyone for still being the same old friends we remember. Once a Maroon, always a Maroon.

The Midwest is the best!

Oh my! What a GREAT weekend...in addition to a steady flow of libations, the weather was PERFECT! I don't want to sound repetitive...but...much thanks to the classmates who spent their personal time to put the weekend together.

I have to go with DK on the time frame to rebound-it takes days instead of hours to get back in the swing of things. Comming in at 3:30am, packing, shoveling the kids in the car and catching a 6am flight was NOT FUN. But, Brian and Quinn were able to make kick off of the Bucs game (priorities) without an ounce of sleep for B. I napped.

Thanks for a great weekend! I am not a "sappy" type of girl, but I feel very fortunate to be from the class of 1983...with or without a pinhead bear.

Go RAYS!

To all those people who had to travel on Sunday and Monday... kudos to you for making the trek to join us at the reunion. You guys rock! I've been exhausted for two days now and can't imagine having had to travel a long distance home. As everyone else said, it takes days instead of hours to recoup nowadays! Yikes! You all take care and thanks so much for coming!

Back safely here in Orlando! What a great weekend. It was my very first reunion to attend so it was like stepping into the twilight zone. I still have all of us in my mind at 18 and BAM!......25 years later. It was so great seeing everyone again. We could not have asked for more perfect weather!! I want to say thanks to Tracy and Chris and all the committee for putting on such an awesome reunion. And yes I will come to the 30th!! ...So, now back to training and running and running and running...the New York Marathon is in just 19 more days!
