I graduated from U of I (Champaign, IL) in 2003 and worked for Epic Systems Corporation in Madison, WI for four years. Working with Epic provided me great exposure to healthcare software industry, and I was able to do a lot of traveling to support customer projects, as well as fit in some fun travel to Europe, Mexico, and other beaches of choice. In 2007 I moved to Seattle and now work for Kaiser Permanente, which is the largest private healthcare provider in the country. I telecommute (yes, in my glasses and pajamas) when I'm not on-site at one of the Kaiser facilities. I spend the most time in the Bay Area since Kaiser headquarters are located there. My official title is 'consultant specialist' for the Care Delivery Business Integration Office for Member and Affiliated web applications. My projects live within the patient portal on kp.org for the most part, allowing patients to connect with their healthcare providers and medical record information via the internet. Aside from work, I try to get in a lot of travel that leads me to a waterfront, warm weather, and/or new cultures...(more to come)
