Wow, since 1999? I served in the Navy until 2003 at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC. From there I moved outside D.C. and worked for a year, moving back to Moline in 2004 for the first time since graduating high school. In the 2004 campaign, I got to work for the White House and got my first true taste of politics and was hooked. After the election, I needed a job so I went to work as a loan officer and worked at that job until one day my secretary told me I had a call, when I picked up the phone the women on the other end called me "Petty Officer Quick," a title I had long forgotten about. Needless to say, I was placed back on active duty to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was a great experience and as I have often times called it my "All Expenses Paid Tropical Vacation." While I was on active duty the first time, I had converted to the Roman Catholic Church and felt a calling to the Priesthood. It wasn't until my serving in OIF that I truly felt that I was called to be a priest, and when I got back from my deployment I entered the Seminary to study formally for the Priesthood. Last year I took a leave from the Seminary and have lived back in the QC's since, taking time away to pray and discern what it is I am supposed to do. I currently am back in politics serving as Campaign Manager for a U.S. Congressional Candidate. It's a challenging job, but I love politics and have enjoyed the experience so far. I am now leaving in a few weeks to work in Africa for awhile and as I leave to embark on this journey there is no doubt in my mind that I am called to be a Priest. Since graduating from MHS, a lot has happened to me, some good, some not so good. Needless to say, I have been blessed beyond imagination and hope that the same can be said for my fellow alums. One thing that I've always been excited about is the opportunity to meet new people and travel. To date, I have been to the following countries; Canada, England, Wales, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, The Vatican, Kuwait, Iraq, Quatar - - and soon to be added; Kenya and Uganda. I believe we should all travel and see as much of the World while we can. I returned to seminary in the Fall of 2013, and am preparing for ordination to be a Roman Catholic Priest in 2018.
