Hot Lemonade *New*

In addition to these 14 original pieces, when Hot Lemonade performed LIVE the repertoire consisted of lively popular covers of Joni Mitchell, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Beatles, and many other musically popular hits. These 2-track recordings were originally engineered by Maestro Tom Connelly (in his living room) December 1971 in Moline Illinois. All 14 tracks were restored in February, 2006.

Hot Lemonade was a “coffee house” acoustic group from Moline, Illinois performing in 1968-1971. Performances by these high schoolers were frequently on campus at Augustana or Western Illinois or venues like Prospect Park Pavilion and many other locations.

LEADERSHIP: The quartet was the foundation for the “All American Folk Song Society” in which over a dozen local student musicians performed together. The only studio recording of Hot Lemonade is all original music by Gary Donohue and Bob Bradley.

Gary Donohue: Lyrics and Music Composition – Vocals and Lead Guitar
Bob Bradley: Lyrics and Music Composition – Rhythm Guitar
Linda Dilworth–Williams: Vocals – Lyric and melody contributions – Guitar
John Patrick Sundine: Vocals – Lyric and melody contributions – Guitar – Tambourine - Comedy
Alternate: Debbie Wendell Vocals

VARIETY: One set consisted of popular broadway show tunes to highlight the vocal showmanship of John, Gary, and Linda. And between songs, John would often engage other members to put on a skit to entertain the LIVE audience. One of the skits we performed in 1968-1971 I recall was named “ baby sitting my cat”.
