Served 28 years in Army Special Forces, retired Colonel in 1994. Served on staff of Chairman, Joint Chiefs; special assistant in counter-terrorism/crisis action to Secretaries of Defense Les Aspin and William Cohen; served 2 years at White House during Clinton Administration as Director Humanitarian Demining and APL Policy.
Left Clinton Administration in 1998 and went sailing in Caribbean with wife for two years. "Unretired" in 2001 to teach math/Algebra here in North Carolina.

Oct 2010 Named by National Council of Teachers of Mathematics as Outstanding Secondary School Math Teacher for North Carolina for 2010.

August 2012 received Raytheon Corp award and National recognition for work with minority and low-performing students in mathematics.

Completely "unemployed"/retired now and enjoying every minute of it.
