After a long trek through college, I earned my BS from the University of Arizona in 2002 and received my MD from Penn State College of Medicine in 2006. I started my Emergency Medicine residency at York Hospital in York, PA in June, 2006. My wife Stephanie and I have four children: Kenlon (born in 7/2000), Morgan (3/03), Alex (5/05) and Cameron (6/07), whom we adopted. We bought a house in Mount Wolf, PA and will live there until I finish residency in June 2009. We are probably going to stay in PA, either in the Gettysburg area or the Poconos.

School Story:

The day of a wrestling match Junior year, Rob Downes was spitting in a cup at lunch.
Coach: "Rob, why are you spitting?"
Rob: "I'm two pounds over."
Coach: "No Rob, you're wrestling at 152 tonight, not 145."
Rob (spits): "I know."

It occured to me that it may be hard to believe that I got into (and through) medical school, since I wasn't the most inspired high school student. Here is a picture of me and the other Emergency Residents in my class at York Hospital.
