From her college yearbook, Judy graduated from Bethany College in 1965 with a degree in Education. At school she was a member of the Mesiah Chorus and the Phi Mu sorority.

From her husband:

Judy died in February 1997 at the age of 54.

She was an elementary school teacher in Pittsburgh prior to getting married. While her husband was not from Pittsburgh, he knew enough about Mt. Lebanon that when I metioned the name of our school, he said:  "Ah, the "Cake Eaters," and laughed.

Her married name was Judith Ann Steffen, and she has two children: Daniel (49), also a Bethany College graduate, and Jennifer (47).

Flowers were Judy's hobby and passion and she was an expert.

  • She was the President of the New Rochelle, NY, Garden Club and later the President of the Larchmont, NY, Garden Club.
  • She was a flower show judge who was asked for many years to judge roses at an annual Manhattan flower show.
  • She was offered a position to become an international representative for flower shows but had to turn the position down when she became ill.

A full life with many joys cut short.

God bless, Judy.

Jay
