I am posting these paraphrased comments from John Lewis about his friendship with Bill that he provided in his profile. They are most certainly a fitting tribute.

After graduation from Mt. Lebanon, I attended the University of South Carolina on a football scholarship. Besides football they wanted me to go to class - I never missed practice.
After working for a year drilling dynamite holes on a side of a mountain, Bill came to my home to get me to go with him to school in New Mexico. He had it all arranged and I did not even know it. Admitted, football scholarship,and first semester freshman."
As I said before, Bill was my best friend for life and we were best friends until he left me in 2006."
