Hello members of MPHS Class of 1975…
On Oct 18 a planning meeting was held at the Press Box in MT. Pleasant along with a zoom meeting call.
Attendees: Connie (Waters) Krieger, Diane Welcher, Cindy (Carpenter) Sheehy, Doris (Wallingford) Doris Wallingford Dickey
Old Business:
Funds: We have $1820.48.
Reunion timeframe: Summer or Homecoming 2025
Liz (Smith) Vickers conducted a Facebook poll & Homecoming 2025 received majority votes.
Connie Krieger had contacted High School about possible date but they will not set homecoming date until January 2025. As homecoming is typically late September or early October, we are targeting this timeframe but until the schools sets the date, only then can set our date.
Location suggestions for reunion (Sat evening): MTP Country Club, Union Block, Moose Lodge & Airport Winery
It was decided to eliminate the Union Block as there is no kitchen and its very expensive.
Diane Welcher will contact MTP Country Club, Moose Lodge & Airport Winery about current rental, food & drink pricing, so we have an idea what to expect
Location suggestions for Meet & Greet (Fri Evening): Bowling Alley, Press Box, Saunders Cabin, East Grove Farms, Mt, Hamill
Meet & Greet location was tabled until later date.
New Business:
Homecoming Parade: We discussed having a float in the parade that classmate could ride on.
We discussed possibly purchasing a banner which we could use at Friday’s & Saturday’s activities.
- If we did a float then a banner would identity who we are.
- We agreed if we did get a banner, we would make it so we could continue to use it at remaining reunions.
- A separate banner designating our 50th reunion would be purchased.
Friday’s Activities– Parade, Pregame meet & greet, homecoming game, Postgame gathering
Saturday’s Activities –????, Dinner
Liz (Smith) Vickers – would you do another poll on FB asking if classmates prefer: no activities, a structured or non-structured activities for Saturday? Thank You !!
Connie (Waters) Krieger plans on posting messages in both the Class Creator & on FB.
Next Meeting: With the holiday season fast approaching we decided to schedule the next meeting in April 2024, possibly at Little Mexico in the upstairs room.
