Dale Barrett, 50, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Feb. 1, at Harmony House Health Care Center of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 14, 1956, in Quincy, Ill., son of Albert and Wilma Rouse Barrett.

He graduated from Mount Pleasant in 1975 and then served in the Army National Guard until 1981. He worked in the construction trade for many years.

He enjoyed television, shooting pool, playing pinball, Chicago Cubs and Bears. Dale enjoyed spending time socializing with everyone in his power wheelchair around Mt. Pleasant. His last 17 years at the Harmony House were the joy of his life.

Survived by: his brothers, Byron (Marilyn) of Des Moines, Gary (Laurie) of Newton, Mark (Kristian) of Rising Sun, Md., and Norman (Lori) of Springville; and a sister, Lisa Vanest of Olathe, Kan.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, LaVerne; and a sister, Janice.
