Mark Rose

Mark K. Rose of Mt. Pleasant died Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at his home. According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded.

A registration book will be available for signing on Friday, January 18, 2013, beginning at noon to 6 p.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 19th, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Manning Hall, 605 South Jackson Street. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow in Manning Hall. A time of fellowship will continue following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Iowa Hospice.

The son of Loyd D. and Shirley A. (Sinn) Rose, Mark Kevin was born on September 8, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in 1975. On June 13, 1981 he married Theresa K. Looker at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. The couple has been lifelong residents of Mt. Pleasant.

Mark worked for several plumbing, heating, and air conditioning companies in the Mt. Pleasant area. He later worked for Hearth and Home Technologies as a research and development engineer. Most recently, he worked for Mid AM Building Supply as a custom exterior door builder.

Favorite hobbies included woodworking, fishing, bird watching, and working on the family acreage. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the San Francisco 49ers, the San Francisco Giants, and the Iowa State Cyclones.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; three sons, Jacob, Nathan and Caleb Rose; his mother, Shirley Rose; one brother Michael (Barb) Rose; a sister, Christy (Terry) Rose-Strohman; and a sister-in law, Kay Rose.

Preceding Mark in death are his father, Loyd Rose; and a brother, David Rose.
