Penny Lynn White, 65, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Family will greet friends and family from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Faith Lutheran Church located at 155 Boyson Road in Marion, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the church. Pastor John Albertson will officiate. In agreement with her wishes, cremation will take place after the service. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Penny was born on March 26, 1956, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Phyllis (Clouse) Weir. Penny was a 1975 graduate from Mt. Pleasant High School. On January 7, 1979, she was united in marriage to Earl Frederick White at the Open Bible Church in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Penny was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she assisted with ushering and funeral lunches. In prior churches she led youth groups. Penny worked in production at Metro Mail and at the Millard Public Schools cafeterias in Nebraska. She loved to sew and quilt. Penny made many quilts over the years, and enjoyed gifting her handiwork. Together with Earl, she liked to go on bike rides. Penny will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Penny is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Earl White of Marion; two daughters, Emily Amanda White (William Owen Jr.) of Haymarket, Virginia, and Alison Lee White (Derry Allbee) of Waukee, Iowa; mother, Phyllis Weir of Mt. Pleasant; and two sisters, Linda (Steve Jacobi) Weir Jacobi of Winfield, Iowa, and Renee (Jeff Fisher) Weir-Fisher of Solon, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Weir on August 20, 2021; brother, Danny Weir; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
