Doug and I were grade school friends, my neighbor and my first "boyfriend" (5th grade). I remember him as cute, fun and a fast runner. The things that mattered at age 10. It really saddened me to see his name in this section. My condolences go out to his family.
I also have good memories of Doug and fond memories all the way back to Sunset Park School. I remember hanging out over by the creek and echo Lydia's and Joan's memories and comments.
It is sad to think about his death but the memories bring a smile to my face.
Ken and I kept in touch with Doug thru the years and always enjoyed him coming over. The last time we saw him I pulled out all my Sunset Park class photos.... We laughed so hard we were crying! It is hard losing a friend you have known since you were 5. I am glad I still have those photos. Hope to see my old friends from Sunset at the reunion. Also what was I thinking with the Purple socks in the 6th grade (Mrs. Taylor's) class photo!!!!! Yikes

I remember Lydia and Doug as an item in 5th grade (Mrs. Sanzenbacher). How sad to see Doug gone. Prayers for his family.
