Leean was truly one of the sweetest girls I have ever known. She was a good friend & will be missed dearly !

At first I thought this was a typo...I thought someone posted her sister's name by mistake.... Leean had a real spirit....now the sisters are re-united....God Bless.

The Winkelhakes used to live down the block from us when I was a kid.  Leeann was my age and Leeann's sister, Mary Sue, was my sister Karen's age.  Our Mom's knew each other, so we used to play together.  I believe they had a swing in their basement, which I always thought was pretty cool. We eventually lost touch with them after they moved out of the neighborhood, but I always remember having fun with Leeann and Mary Sue.  Leeann was a good friend when we were kids. I remember bumping into her every so often once I came to Prospect, and she seemed to be the same Leeann she was when we were kids...still thoughtful and sweet.

It is hard to believe both Mary Sue and Leean are gone. I remember seeing Leeann at our 20th HS reunion and she had not changed a bit. I knew Leean from BlueBirds and CampFire girls and those oh so young, oh so fun years at WestBrook Elementary school.

I am still in the MP area and I went by the Winkelhakes' old house the other day and there was a tall rose stem with 2 pink roses in full bloom in the front of the house. There were no other roses or flowers at all, just these 2 pink roses growing vertically on the same stem.  It seemed symbolic.

John Winkelhake, their younger brother, if you are reading this, I am sorry for your losses, they are too many and too soon.

I have the most vivid memory of you when the CampFire girls met at your house saying "Champagne tickles my nose!" It was adorable.
