In Memory

Amy Foley

Amy began her career as a sales associate at a Carson's department store and went on to work at Allstate Insurance, as a manager at Panera Bread, an associate at Harris Bank in Huntley, and most recently as a consultant for Pampered Chef. She was a 1980 graduate of Prospect High School and a 1982 graduate of Harper College, and received her culinary arts degree from Elgin Community College in 2006. Amy loved photography, hiking and nature, but especially cooking and baking. She lived her life to help other people and had a heart as big as the whole outdoors.

I hadn't seen Amy in a very long time, but we got in touch via email many years ago when I had sent her a copy of a movie we had made in high school with mutual friends.  I knew she was sick, but I really didn't think it would take her life.  I can't believe it's already been 2 1/2 years since she's passed.

Amy was a friend, a girlfriend, a daughter, a sister...but what I remember most was that she was a poet, a photographer, and a lover of nature and animals.  She was fun-loving and funny, adventurous and thoughtful, and most of all, a good friend with a generous soul.
