Gregory Matthew Reiter, 45

SILVERHILL, Ala. -

Gregory Matthew Reiter, 45, of Silverhill died Friday, Feb. 7,2003. Born Nov. 8,1957, in Chicago, Greg attended schools in Mount Prospect and was an alarm operator for the Hoffman Estates Fire Department before joining the Rockford Fire Department Feb. 1, 1980. Greg served as a firefighter and EMT until Sept. 16, 1996, and was a memberof Fire Fighters Union 413. Greg married Julia Olson June 12, 1982, in Rock-ford. After retiring, he studied and later taught computer science at Rock Valley College. Greg and Julia moved to Silverhill in July 2001, and enjoyed building and landscaping a new home. Greg loved fishing, boating, watching football and golf with his buddies, and working with his computer and sound equipment. Survivors include wife, Julia of Silverhill; par-ents, George and Nancy Reiter of Palmetto, Fla.; and sisters, Tracy (Jon) Gruspier of Silverhill and Julie (Carla) Rieter of Mount Prospect. Predeceased by brother, Gary Reiter.

A private remembrance will be Tuesday, Feb. 11. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Heart Association. Arrangements by Mack Funeral Home & Cremato-ry, Highway 59, Robertsdale, Alabam.
