Erin passed from this life in the Spring of 1989. Erin was an incredible person that set a great example for all of us in the way she treated others and the enthusiasm she had for life. Her smile will always be missed.
Class of 1988
Below is a video of Erin O'Neal and Chris McCartt when they addressed us at Graduation.
I also visit Erin's grave quite often. When I feel like there are things I want to give up on I always think of Erin as she seemed to always have a drive to get things done and to never give up.
Although I have lived out of state for 18 of the 20 years since graduation, I come home a few times a year. I have a grandpa, Aunt and now a grandma at that same cemetery, so when I go visit their grave site, I visit Erin's as well. She had such a big heart and a unique spirit that was so uplifting. Her big smile always filled the hallways at B.R.V.
Erin and her memory are now even more precious to me, as she was 19 yrs old when she died,,,, and so was my son. Erin visited me shortly after Jared was born, and she was so excited for me and so in awe of that precious, sweet little baby I had. Her visit meant a lot to me then, but it meant even more after she passed away. Oddly, she was 19.......my Jared was 19......and it was 19 yrs ago that Erin died, at the time Jared passed away. I now know the pain that Lynn & Dave experienced, and it's something I would have given my own life to have avoided experiencing. Erin's memory is very much alive in me.
Wow Erin O'Neal what a person!!!!! They was so many days of school that I just couldn't wait to get to school so I could just see her smile. It would always brighten my day! I was always a little partial to Erin, not to take away anything from the rest of the girls, but she seemed to always make me happy. She probably has touched my heart more then any other person has in my life, besides my own family you guys know what I mean. Erin you will always be in my heart Thank you so much!! Love you and miss you
I can't say enough about Erin...She was a great friend..We were always referred to as BERT and ERNIE! I will never forget when we emptied all the change out of her parents "piggy bank" and went to the game room and played video games....and man did we play...about $100.00 worth according to Dave and Lynn...At the funeral home they reminded me of this "little incident" Luckily, they are great people as was Erin!!!! Love and miss you girl!!!!
I have heard from both your Mom and your Dad in recent weeks. You are missed dearly by all of us. I wish we were able to share with you in person how much you continue to mean to all of us. You have always been and continue to be a true inspiration of what we can and should be. Thank you for sharing your kindness!

I still visit her grave site two or three times a year. My kids are even aware of how special she was to all of us.Amy McNelis (Hollowell)
