Attended University of Florida for undergraduate pre-med / zoology degree. Attended University of Alabama School of Medicine for medical degree. Received my training in anesthesiology at Indiana University Medical Center in Indiananpolis where I also met my wife, Suzy, who was a surgical / cardiac intensive care unit nurse. Practiced for 20 years in a big group in Nashville, TN. Practiced 6 years in academic medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I've been practicing in Aiken, SC with two partners and 12 nurse anesthetists since November 2011.

My hobbies and interests include family, fitness (run, swim, weights), travel, the family dogs, and golf, to name a few.

While recently I was forced to leave Nashville, TN, Suzy and I plan on moving back to Nashville one day.

I have very, very fond memories of life while at MBHS. My favorite memory is when Alan Routman (class of '73) crawled across the floor in the middle of physics class (with Mr. Stephens) to squeen Billy Blair's biceps on a dare and bet from our physics work table group (Eddie Humpreys and John Levine, to name a few). He collected his winnings (approx. $20) when Mr. Stephens saw him. Mr. Stephens walked back to our table to ask us what was going on. When Alan told him, he softly said (just to us) that he would go down to 20th Avenue and bare his butt for that much money! I've never laughed so hard in my life as then. Here's to you Mr. Stephens for your wonderful wit and making learning physics fun.
